Why List Your Business on
Blue Trunk?

Show your commitment to accessibility and inclusion by listing your business on Blue Trunk! Filling out our accessibility survey helps you showcase how your business is accessible and makes it easier for you to reach a broader customer base. Although there is always room to grow, you may be accessible in ways you didn’t realize. Accommodations can include things like providing digitized guides and menus, accommodating dietary restrictions, and having grab bars in bathrooms. This sounds great, but isn’t accessibility already covered by the ADA?

The Americans with Disabilities Act, commonly referred to as the ADA, is a landmark piece of legislation from 1990 that prohibits discrimination based on disability. Although it was a huge step forwards for civil rights, there is a lot that it doesn’t cover. By listing your business you help people find accommodations they need, these accommodations include but also go beyond what is required by the ADA. Many of these additional accommodations are easy and low cost to implement.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can you help me fill the survey out?
-
Yes! We are happy to assist you with the survey. Please contact us to schedule an appointment.

What does it cost to list my business?
-
It is completely free! As a nonprofit we believe this information should be available to everyone and cost shouldn’t be a barrier.

Will I be rated?
-
No, we do not rate businesses. Accessibility is different for each person, so it is hard to convey meaningful information through ratings.

Do I need to create yet another account to manage?
-
No! Simply fill out the survey and we will publish the information you provide. If you need to update anything you can contact us or fill out a new survey to replace the old one.

I don’t think my business is very accessible, can I still be listed?
-
Yes, accessibility is different for everybody and you may be accessible in ways you don’t realize! It’s also better for your customers to have the information they need and have a good experience, then to show up and discover it isn’t accessible for them.
